Perhaps from Derek Walcott? His quote:

“Break a vase, and the love that reassembles the fragments is stronger than that love which took its symmetry for granted when it was whole.”

yes i found this. i was looking to go back one more step to the art form he is referencing, where you purposely make, then break, the reassemble a vase using gold leaf.

The whole quote may give context:

"Break a vase, and the love that reassembles the fragments is stronger than that love which took its symmetry for granted when it was whole. The glue that fits the pieces is the sealing of its original shape. It is such a love that reassembles our African and Asiatic fragments, the cracked heirlooms whose restoration shows its white scars. This gathering of broken pieces is the care and pain of the Antilles, and if the pieces are disparate, ill-fitting, they contain more pain than their original sculpture, those icons and sacred vessels taken for granted in their ancestral places. Antillean art is this restoration of our shattered histories, our shards of vocabulary, our archipelago becoming a synonym for pieces broken off from the original continent."

I have no idea what the answer to this question is...

But I wanted to add you. I'm Erin from ErinInTheSkyWithLupus @ blogspot. This is my personal journal & that is my new health journal :) Just out of curiosity, how'd you find my page?

I'm so sorry to hear you've had those headaches & times you can't even see straight. Nobody should have to go through that. It's scary & terrible!

Also, congrats on your marriage :) It's so wonderful to find someone who can fill in the gaps for the things you can't do & love you unconditionally too. I think my husband is a saint for putting up with me. lol

:)

I look forward to getting to know you better, Carla.

hey girl! you found me cause i found you when you left a comment on my blog the other day. (it's me again! i'm everywhere!)
my headaches, praise the Lord, are pretty much gone (knock on wood- yeah religion *and* superstition- i use anything that might help! I'm not proud!)
right now though i've got plantar fasciitis and it's really wearing on my patience. i do OK as long as i don't have to get out of a chair. that isn't really a feasible solution. my hubby's great but he's not changing diapers! :-0
